LEGO DUPLO coding expres - coding and programming with a train

Coding Express is an intuitive and versatile solution that introduces young children in kindergarten and preschool to early coding principles. This exciting set will spark their creativity and curiosity in a natural way. This solution from LEGO Education is based on the popular train theme. It allows children to make connections and intuitively explore early programming. Concepts like sequencing, looping and conditional coding will be addressed and kids will develop their skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, social and emotional expression and collaboration (team work). With this set, 5 different colour elements are included, each with its own function and meaning:

• a yellow action brick that activates the warning sound of the train
• a white action brick that turns on/off the lights 
• a blue action brick to pause the train for charging/fuelling
• a green action brick that alters the direction of the train
• a red action brick that makes the train stop

All aboard the Coding Express!! In a collaborative way, young children learn early critical 21st century skills like coding and programming. 

Contents of the DUPLO coding express train set:

• 234 LEGO DUPLO bricks including the Push&Go train with lights and sounds, motor, 2 railroad switches and a colour sensor that interacts with the action bricks
• 5 coloured action bricks (see above)
• several type of rails (curved rails, switches, passing)
• inbox getting started materials including activities, introduction guide, large poster, and 6 building inspiration cards to build 12 unique models
• teacher guide that includes 8 online lessons (4 lessons using the physical set + 4 lessons using the digital app)
• 8 short online video tutorials
• free optional app for Android and iOS
• App includes 4 activities around the themes of "Journeys", "Characters", "Maths", and "Music" (allows the preschool children to collaborate and interact with the physical toy train)
• Also a face-to-face training is available for understanding how to successfully implement the Coding Express teaching solution into your class

The different themed activities change the way the action bricks behave, altering the effect on the express train. The activities are open ended, and children will practice a variety of skills relevant for early childhood development.
